  • Dogs
    • Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Island Cottage by prior arrangement.

    • We ask that you please ensure that your dog is not allowed on the furniture and will not cause any damage.

    • This is a crofting area where sheep are reared, so it is important that dogs should be kept under control at all times.

  • No Smoking
    • For the benefit of other visitors to Island Cottage, we ask that you please refrain from smoking inside the property.

    • We reserve the right to levy an additional charge for extra cleaning and/or re-decoration if this request is ignored.

  • How to Make a Booking
    • In order to make a confirmed booking, we need to have a completed Booking Form together with a cheque payment for a deposit of 20% of the cost of your holiday.

    • The balance of the payment for your holiday is then payable 6 weeks before the start of your holiday.

    • If the start of your holiday is less than 6 weeks away at the time of booking, we need payment in full with your Booking Form.

  • Facilities in the House
    • Accommodation
      • Island Cottage has 4 bedrooms and will sleep 5 - 6 people.

      • There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, a double bedroom and a single bedroom.

      • Upstairs there are two more bedrooms, a single room and a twin room.

      • The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a WC. There is a separate WC upstairs, with wash hand basin and mirror.

      • Downstairs, there is a comfortable sitting room with an open fireplace which can be used for open fires. The fireplace has a removable electric fire which can be used as an alternative to lighting the open fire.

      • There is a good-sized well equipped modern kitchen/dining room which has a dining table and chairs for 6 people. The kitchen has plenty of cupboard space and worktop area. There is a list of kitchen equipment below.

      • Leading off the kitchen area, there is a separate utility room with freezer, washing machine and more wall cupboards.

      • All the rooms to the front of the house have superb views across the loch.

      • Outside, there is a small lawned garden with a low fence around it and gates at each exit. The garden is therefore enclosed for dogs although larger, more energetic animals, may be capable of leaping the fence.

    • Parking
      • There is good off-road parking in the drive to the side of the cottage.

      • All parking in Lochcarron village is free of charge, and with very minimal restrictions.

    • Heating
      • The cottage has 3 night storage radiators in the dining room, sitting room and the entrance hall.

      • The other rooms in the cottage have electric panel convector heaters.

      • There is also an open fireplace in the sitting room with the option of either an electric fire or open coal fire.

    • Electricity
      • The cost of electricity is included in the price for the house.

    • Hot Water
      • Water is heated by electric immersion heater.

    • Bed Linen & Towels
      • Bed linen is provided and included in the tariff for the house.

      • Towels are not provided and you should therefore bring your own towels with you, please.

    • Kitchen Equipment
      • The kitchen is well equipped with electric hob and oven unit, microwave and fridge, together with the usual small kitchen appliances.

      • There is a separate freezer in the utility room.

      • There is a radio/tape/CD player.

    • Clothes' Washing/Drying
      • There is a washing machine in the utility room.

      • The kitchen has an airing cupboard with iron and ironing board.

    • Bath/Shower/WC
      • The bathroom is on the ground floor of the cottage

      • The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower above.

      • There is a WC in the bathroom and a second, separate, WC upstairs.

      • The single bedroom on the ground floor has a wash hand basin with mirror above, and a shaver point.

      • The upstairs WC also has a wash hand basin and mirror.

    • Shaver Points
      • There are 2 electric shaver points.

      • One is located in the main bathroom, the other in the single bedroom on the ground floor.

    • TV/Video
      • There is a TV and VCR in the sitting room.

    • Telephone
      • There is a payphone in the cottage.

      • Mobile phones operating on O2 (formerly Cellnet), Vodafone or Orange work well in Lochcarron village and in many parts of the surrounding area.

      • Several other mobile networks which are subsidiaries to the above also work well in the area.
